3D scanning & 3D printing resources

Tips and tricks from our expert engineers.

FAQs

Yes, our engineers travel all over the UK to conduct on-site 3D scanning. This does involve an additional travel cost. Smaller parts can be mailed to our Kent office and scanned in-house.

Depending on the material you choose, we currently offer: Black, White, Gray, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, Orange, and Clear.

If you need a different colour get in touch and we will look into it for you.

Raw scan data is typically delivered as an STL file. If you have opted for reverse engineering or requested a CAD file, this will be a STEP file. Let us know if there is a specific format that you require.

For FDM prints our max build volume is 480 x 480 x 480 mm.

SLS prints can be up to 280 x 330 x 420 mm.

Larger parts can be printed in sections for you to join together.

Our metrology scanners are capable of up to 0.02 mm accuracy and 0.01 mm resolution. Larger projects using our terrestrial laser scanners tend to be accurate to within 1-3 mm.

Due to the custom nature of our 3D prints, we are unable to offer returns and refunds in most cases.

If you are unsatisfied with the quality of your parts, please contact us within 5 days and we will do our best to find a solution.
